Millions of people enjoyed the Modern Warfare 2 open beta last weekend – giving Call of Duty fans ample time to grab rewards and level up.

The open beta finally saw Xbox and PC players join PlayStation owners, and enjoy Modern Warfare 2 action courtesy of crossplay.

We even got a surprise, when Infinity Ward extended the open beta for a further two hours to give people more of a chance of levelling up. Unsurprisingly, now it’s to an end, it’s left people wanting more.

Will there be another Modern Warfare 2 beta?

At this moment in time, we think it’s highly unlikely there will be another Modern Warfare 2 beta, which means you’ll need to wait until the official release in a little over a month.

If it’s anything like the previous game, the beta doors are firmly closed. The good news is that all of your MW2 progress will carry over to the full game if you choose to buy it.

The Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 beta originally ended for everyone at 6pm UK time (10am PT / 13:00 ET) on Monday, September 26. However was extended for two hours.
