Nintendo has angered European Wii U gamers by releasing Balloon Fight, the first Wii U specific Virtual Console game, using the universally hated 50Hz mode.

Whereas other regions received a 60Hz version, European gamers must settle for the inferior, slower 50Hz version.

The 50Hz standard was used for all Wii Virtual Console titles too, suggesting the situation isn’t likely to change for future releases. European gamers can enjoy Balloon Fight in 60Hz, however, providing they buy and play it on the 3DS.

Balloon Fight is available for 30 days priced 30p.
