Japanese video game sales figures produced by Media Create for the week ending December 9 put Wii Fit at the top of the chart for a second week, with 150,000 units. This puts the peripheral-based fit-tainment title at 411,000 units sold in only two weeks.

Mario Party DS continues strongly, placing at No.2 with 107,000 units; lifetime sales stand at 646,000. Namco Bandai’s Tales of Innocence on Nintendo DS is new at No.3 with 104,000 units sold, Sony’s Hot Shots Golf Portable 2 for PSP is new at No.4 and Prof Layton takes a big sales drop and finds itself at No.5.

Microsoft’s Lost Odyssey is new at No.7 with 55,000 units and Super Mario Galaxy re-enters the Top Ten at No.9 with 45,000 units. Although not the smash hit many had predicted, lifetime sales of the plumber’s latest adventure are fast approaching 500,000 units, a figure it could pass next week.
