Which AMD Ryzen 7000 series processor should you buy?

This launch is like no other, with those making the purchase required to upgrade several parts of their computer.

In terms of which Ryzen 7000 CPU you should be buying, this is going to be like any other launch, however, if this is your first upgrade in a few years, we are on hand to help.

To put it simply, the vast majority looking to buy a Ryzen 7000 CPU, will probably end up going for the Ryzen 5 7600X. This SKU will serve the masses well, offering blistering speeds, sufficient cores, and threads, all for a very respectable price.

Zen 4 will be built on a smaller process than Zen 3. The current generation – Zen 3 – is built on a 7nm process whereas the Zen 4 architecture will be built on a 5nm process.

Earlier this year, AMD estimated that Zen 4 would deliver an 8% – 10% uplift in IPC (Instructions Per Clock) over Zen 3. However, as AMD optimizes its Zen 4 processors for production, they have seen an IPC uplift closer to 13%.
