It’s a surreal and peculiar narrative adventure game, which boasts the company of Dave Fennoy (Afterparty, Gears 5, The Walking Dead), Cissy Jones (Destiny 2, Firewatch, Life Is Strange), Kimberly Brooks (Mass Effect, Lollipop Chainsaw, BioShock Infinite), and Sting in its voice cast. Yes, that Sting. Where The Water Tastes Like Wine’s striking and hand-drawn art style animates the stories its characters will tell as the player meanders across a folkloric, Depression-era United States. Each story acts as a key to a lock, and they will be re-told and re-told to link the right story with the right character.
Experimental and eccentric, the stories and characters were developed by a collective of writers from diverse backgrounds to describe, ‘the shining lie of America: about the dream of freedom and justice and opportunity, and the darker, more tarnished truth.’ Now that the game is coming to consoles, it is hoped that it will attract a new audience to its unique storytelling experiences.
Where The Water Tastes Like Wine is out now on PC and will arrive on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch on November 29. Watch the announcement trailer below.
