Publisher Annapurna Interactive has announced that Wattam will come to PlayStation 4 and PC on December 17 (via Gematsu).

In the world of the Wattam, a catastrophe rocked their planet and scattered its people across the galaxy. The Mayor – a cuboid chap who is green about the gills – must create kaleidoscopic explosions that will help the diaspora of Wattam find their way home. There are over 100 characters who have a unique melody and backstory. Players will switch, stack, climb, chase, float, explode, and dance to solve puzzles, spark ginormous explosions, set special events, and make music.

Wattam is one more charmer from the creator of Noby Noby Boy and Katamari Damacy, Keita Takahashi. Speaking to the official PlayStation blog, he said that his children have changed his perspective on game design. ‘One day, my kids told me there is Noby Noby Boy face on the faucet, so I went to the bathroom to check it, but I could not find it,’ he recalled. ‘I have never tried to look at [the filter on the end of the faucet] before, but they can see it easily because of their viewpoint, which is lower than mine because they are shorter. I think my kids wanted to tell me what we grown-ups could miss a lot of things naturally and easily.’

Wattam will arrive on PlayStation 4 and PC via the Epic Games Store on December 17. Watch the release date trailer below.
