Rumours of Watch Dogs’ Wii U cancellation have resurfaced after the game failed to appear on Nintendo’s official 2014 release schedule.

The platform holder published a revised list of first and third-party titles headed to Wii U last night, following its Q3 2014 briefing – but Watch Dogs remained mysteriously absent.

Nintendo states that the software included in the schedule is “based on the information as of January 30, 2014”.

Other Ubisoft titles, including Child of Light and 3DS releases Petz Sea Side and Petz Country Side all appear on the list, suggesting that the publisher’s line-up has been taken into consideration.

Ubisoft chose not to confirm whether Watch Dogs was still heading to Wii U when contacted by VideoGamer.com this afternoon.

Rumours of the Wii U version’s cancellation first surfaced last week after it was reported that GameStop Italy had begun cancelling pre-orders and had removed the title from its website.

The retailer is later reported to have said that the cancellations were caused by a “glitch”.
