Watch Dogs has shipped over 9 million units, Ubisoft has announced. The figure marks the number sold in to retailers and represents a 1 million boost in sales since July.

The publisher expects the game to have sold in over 10 million units by the end of March 2015.

Watch Dogs became the fastest-selling new IP in history when it launched in May and, despite Destiny giving it a run for its money since, continues to hold the record in Western Europe.

Its success has almost certainly cemented plans for a sequel, too. Last night, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot stated that the publisher has “great plans for the Watch Dogs franchise”.

The Wii U version launches on November 21.
