The Watch Dogs franchise continues to have a future at Ubisoft after sales for Watch Dogs 2 picked up following what the publisher described as “soft” launch sales.

Ubisoft also noted that the game’s launch was “not as dynamic as expected, but momentum [is] now positive”.

Speaking during its Q3 earnings call Ubisoft revealed that since launch sales have been strong thanks to continued positive word of mouth, with sales now higher than Assassin’s Creed Syndicate and showing signs of performing in-line with Far Cry 4.

Watch Dogs has sold over 11 million copies, whilst Far Cry 4 has shifted more than seven million.

All that means we should see Ubisoft return to Watch Dogs at some point in the future.
