Nintendo has announced that WarioWare: Do It Yourself will launch for Nintendo DS on April 30, featuring over 90 “microgames” and the ability to create and share your own creations.

Budding video game designers can let their imaginations run wild as they start from scratch to create simple microgames for their friends and family to play. From graphics, animation, music and rules, players can design every aspect of their creations.

Using the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection, players will then be able to share their creations with friends. What’s more, Nintendo will hold contests called Design Challenges which will enable users to create and upload their own microgames relating to a certain theme. The winner picked by Nintendo, will have their microgame made available to anyone who owns WarioWare: Do it Yourself.

The creation tools aren’t limited only to gaming, with players able to become comic artists, creating four-panel comics to share with friends.

Gamers with a Wii can also join in by downloading WiiWare game, WarioWare: Do It Yourself – Showcase, from the Wii Shop Channel. Use Nintendo Points to access over 70 microgames and experience the games created using the DS game on the television screen.

The WiiWare game also includes an unlockable multiplayer mode that lets up to four people play microgames competitively.
