Sony Computer Entertainment’s Warhawk took a surprising change of direction fairly late on in development, abandoning the single-player game and instead focusing on delivering a complete multiplayer experience.
It appears to have been a wise decision, with the game’s online player base now more than 500,000 strong. That’s according to Warhawk’s online leaderboards which report 511,130 players and counting.
It’s also worth noting that the leaderboard only registers players who’ve played a ranked match, so the actual number could well be higher.
