Warhammer: Vermintide 2 has flogged over one million copies worldwide in just five weeks, developer Fatshark has announced. The game had previously moved half-a-million copies in less than one week.
Available for the PC, Warhammer: Vermintide 2Â takes place in the gloomy days of End Times, and introduces a brand new group of enemies to battle, namely the fearsome Chaos. The sequel builds on the foundations of its equally-brilliant predecessor, introducing the Heroic Deeds System, fresh environments to redecorate in brain matter grey, and 15 hero careers.
‘We are genuinely humbled by the reception of Warhammer: Vermintide 2 from gamers all over the world,’ beamed Fatshark’s big cheese, Martin Wahlund. ‘We reached half a million units within the first week, and one million within five weeks, which is far quicker than we ever expected.’
Warhammer: Vermintide 2Â is due for release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this year, with a beta for consoles kicking off soon.
