Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine has shipped 1.2 million copies worldwide, publisher THQ has announced.
The third-person shooter, developed by Relic, was released in September. THQ CEO Brian Farrell said the game’s sales were “slightly ahead of our expectations” in an investor call yesterday.
Despite this success, the rest of THQ’s quarterly financials were not so positive – the company announced a loss of $92.4 million.
THQ, however, remained positive. “Our two biggest quarters of the year remain ahead of us, and we are focused on execution,” commented Farrell.
The publisher is looking to Saints Row: The Third, WWE ’12 and UFC Undisputed 3 to bolster sales in the second half of the 2012 fiscal year.
