THQ has taken the lid off a brand new Warhammer 40,000 game, simply called Space Marine.
Developed by Relic, the US team behind the excellent Dawn of War RTS games for PC, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine is a third-person action-RPG for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
Space Marine became one of gaming’s worst-kept secrets after a nine-minute gameplay demonstration video was leaked onto the internet in September last year.
As described by IGN, Space Marine sees you play as a Space Marine (shock horror). A video of the game shows a squad of four of the genetically enhanced super soldiers landing on an Imperial planet and fighting off a huge wave of Orks.
It’s looking like a cross between Gears of War and Too Human, at this point, with RPG elements thrown into the bloody, brutal combat.
There’s no release date at this point, nor is there word on whether co-op play will feature, but we’re very excited. Expect more from E3.
