Saints Row 4 developer Deep Silver Volition is seeking around $200,000 from the city of Champaign to help “remodel its downtown offices and expand by as many as 100 employees”, according to a report from local news site The News-Gazette.
If granted, the move would lead to Volition’s headcount increasing by around 50 per cent. The studio is reported to currently house around 200 employees. Volition are also said to have requested the city pay $1,000 for each new employee and grant additional discounts for parking spaces.
However, if the incentives aren’t provided, The News-Gazette reports that Volition may have to consider relocating due to costs.
Volition was acquired by Deep Silver last year following the closure of THQ. Its next project has yet to be announced.
