Viva Piñata is Microsoft’s attempt to break into the lucrative pre-teen market. The TV show produced by 4Kids Entertainment and Bardel Entertainment has already premiered in North America, and the video game is to follow this Christmas.
The re-launched website allows visitors to visit the sights and sounds of Piñata Island. Here you’ll discover a wealth of information on the upcoming game and TV show, complete with profiles for each of the Piñatas. The website also features downloadable ring tones, wallpapers, and a Fan Site Kit. There’s also the promise of some Viva Piñata themed games, but these are yet to appear.
Viva Piñata the video game is set to launch this holiday season and invites players of all ages to immerse themselves in a fun and colourful world populated by the loveable Piñatas. The challenge is to create and maintain a living garden ecosystem that grows in real time. As players build up their garden more than 60 wild Piñatas will come and live there.
As one of Microsoft’s big titles this Christmas expect to hear a lot more about the game at the X06 event later this month.
