110 Industries has announced Vengeance is Mine, a mech brawler in development for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
Promising “brutal” mech combat, the twist here is that encounters will also include a time-manipulation mechanic. The HYDRA mech suit that players fight in is able to speed up and rewind time. This will let players either blink towards their enemies or rewind to get out of the way of certain doom. You’ll also get use of an energy based projectile weapon to take on foes from a distance.
The plot of Vengeance is Mine sees you play as Gabriel Jaeger. He’s a man left for dead by a trio of time travellers who travel back to 1664 in order to nab control of derelict military installation the Deacon. They manage to do so and escape to the future, but not before Gabriel manages to barely make it to the prototype HYDRA mech suit, ready to jump forward and take his revenge.
In addition, the company also revealed that Stefanie Joosten will be joining the game’s development team as Creative Director. Previously, she was perhaps most famous for taking on the role of Quiet in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Founder and Creative director Sergei Kolobashkin says he’s “very excited” to have Joosten onboard. “Her in-depth experience working with Japanese gaming companies is an edge we were looking for. She came out like a world-class pro.”
There’s no specific date for Vengeance is Mine just yet. However, the team hopes to see the game launch on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC tentatively around 2023. Check out the trailer for yourself below.
