On the back of LucasArts deciding to develop Star Wars: The Force Unleashed only for consoles and not the PC, we caught up with Fracture’s assistant producer Jeffrey Gullett to find out if the company’s other big action game for 2008 had a chance of a PC release. It seems not.

“We looked at the PC, but there were a few different issues when it came to PC, like the game is actually incredibly demanding for processing power and graphic power, so we really sort of require pretty much top of the line PCs to run it at the performance we would require it,” said Gullett.

“So then it just kind of came down to like, is it really viable to do it? If it requires that high end of a machine, does it really make sense to do it or not? So we sort of decided against that and went for 360 and PS3.”

So, it’s another win for console owners. Perhaps when base level PCs have caught up we might see Fracture on the PC, but for now it’s a console exclusive.
