Urban Reign is a 3D action fighting game from Namco that puts you in charge of protecting a gang leader during a war that is raging in the streets all the way to city government. The game has 100 missions which you must battle through alongside a partner, allowing you to pull off combo manoeuvres to take out an onslaught of enemies.
The game features over 30 weapons, including spades, pipes and broken bottles, which can be used to maim, kill and disfigure (pleasant) your enemies. There are also more than 60 playable characters available, including special guests Pual Pheonix and Marshall Law from the Tekken series. There are three game modes in which to play: Free mode allows you to unlock new characters and explore new fighting styles, Challenge mode puts you with a friend or A.I. character with whom you battle against endless waves of enemies, and Multiplayer mode allows you to fight alongside or against friends in four-player head-to-head brawls.
Urban Reign will be released for PS2 in Early 2006.
