Untitled Goose Game developer House House has explained its decision to launch the game as timed exclusive for the Epic Games Store.

Some people are upset at the change – recently, there has been a swell of games moving over to the Epic Games Store, and it has caused irritation to those not wanting to use Epic's platform.

In a posting on Twitter, House House said, 'House House is a small independent studio that has been operating on a tight budget for years, so a partnership like this gives us a means to make games sustainably for the foreseeable future — in an industry like ours, this kind of stability is huge.'

House House is a studio comprised of four developers, so financial stability is understandably important. The developer did then go on to clarify that the game will be coming to other services as well, after the initial period of exclusivity:

'We love Itchio and Steam, and are happy to say we'll be bringing our goose to these platforms in future. And to reiterate, it'll also be available on Switch from day one.'

Untitled Goose Game doesn't have a set release date yet; it is currently scheduled to come out 'later in 2019.'

The game has you playing as a thoroughly unpleasant goose, as the screenshot at the top of this page demonstrates.
