Sony has officially announced Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, a compilation of all three original Uncharted titles heading to PS4 later this year.

Due for release on October 9, The Nathan Drake Collection includes all three PS3 Uncharted titles remastered in 1080p/60fps, along with additional improvements to lighting, textures and character models. A Photo Mode is included, too.

The collection does not include PS Vita release Uncharted: Golden Abyss or the multiplayer components of Uncharted 2 or Uncharted 3.

It will, however, offer players exclusive access to an upcoming multiplayer beta for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, which is due to release early next year. A launch date for the beta has yet to be confirmed.

The collection isn't being developed by Naughty Dog, though, with development instead being led by Bluepoint Games, the team behind the 360 port of Titanfall and The Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection on PS3.

Screenshots of the remaster have yet to be released.

"The team at Bluepoint Games is incomparable regarding their portfolio of achievements and remastered releases, and we've been working closely with them to bring over our engine to make Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection an exemplary game," Naughty Dog's community strategist Arne Meyer said on PlayStation Blog. "That means not only allowing you to play the single-player campaigns of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception in 1080p and 60fps with better lighting, textures, and models, but they're also working on a range of improvements and additions across all three games.

"We put together the list of these improvements and additions based on countless forum posts, messages, Tweets, and even through personal conversations we've had with a number of you over the years. More on these specifics in future updates."

Players who pre-order now will receive the Nathan Drake Pack for free, which includes additional outfits for Drake and golden weapon skins. Pre-ordering digitally will also net you a fancy dynamic theme.

A price point for Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection has yet to be confirmed.
