Speaking to IBTimes, Naughty Dog Director of Communications Arne Meyer teased that the upcoming standalone title Uncharted: The Lost Legacy could be quite lengthy.
When asked about The Lost Legacy’s switch from DLC to standalone story, Meyer stated that it was down to Naughty Dog’s inability to limit themselves to a shorter adventure.
‘There’s no way we could, sort of, constrict and restrain ourselves, and that’s exactly what was happening here,’ Meyer explained. ‘When we were doing story pitches, we were coming up with a game that would be over ten hours long and so we suddenly realised everything we said was true and we couldn’t keep it short.’
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy was revealed in December 2016 at PlayStation Experience, and stars Chloe Frazier and Nadine Ross. Naughty Dog previously said that Nathan Drake will not feature this time around because his story ended in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is expected to be released later this year.
