Naughty Dog has announced plans to replace Uncharted 4’s ‘Triple Pack Expansion’ with a new ‘Explorer Pack’, which it says will provide players “with even greater choice on which items they prefer to own”.

In an update on PlayStation Blog, lead game designer Robert Cogburn explained that the developer will “continue to hand-pick content included in the Triple Pack” for those who have already purchased the expansion or continue to purchase the game’s Digital Deluxe version.

However, players that wish to invest in Uncharted 4’s Season Pass in the future will be restricted to the new Explorer Pack, which includes access to the upcoming single-player DLC and 3,200 Uncharted Points. Uncharted Points are a form of in-game currency used to unlock new outfits and items. A pack of 3,200 is valued at £15.99 on PlayStation Store.

Both the Triple Pack Expansion and Explorer Pack retail for £19.99, although the difference between the two simply seems to be that Triple Pack owners will be given instant access to specific items, while Explorer Pack owners will be given a set amount of currency to unlock whichever items they want.

From today, Triple Pack owners will be able to download Multiplayer Pack 1, which instantly unlocks the new P90 Long Gun, Gifting Booster, Pirate Drake Skin, Pirate Commodore Hat and Rubber Leg Taunt from the in-game store. A second Multiplayer Pack is also promised for Triple Pack owners in the future, along with the single-player DLC.

All items can also be unlocked via in-game currency, while all DLC maps will be available to everybody for free.
