We know Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is incredible, and no doubt you do too. But what do Naughty Dog’s peers think?

Fellow PS3-exclusive developer Insomniac Games, the US studio behind the Resistance and Ratchet & Clank series, has spoken to VideoGamer.com at length on the game, revealing what it really thinks about Naughty Dog’s effort.

“It’s stunning,” said Insomniac senior community manager James Stevenson.

“It seems to have an incredible sense of storytelling and adventure. The way the game looks is amazing. The density of the environments and the props and the interactions you can have with those items, from a game development perspective, is just absolutely mind-blowing.”

So impressed is Insomniac with Uncharted 2, that it wants to swap PS3 development notes with Naughty Dog.

“I’m glad we’re friends with those guys, so we can find out how they did it!,” Stevenson said. “I’m happy for them. They deserve all the success in the world. The first game was a victim of the PS3’s installed base at the time. It did well but it could have reached a much larger audience. This one’s getting an audience it deserves.”

So there you have it. It’s not just critics who are falling over themselves to praise Uncharted 2. It’s game developers, too. In this case, however, the love between the two studios isn’t surprising. Both work on Sony-owned IP and are based in California, USA.
