A football game has topped the chart for a fourth successive week, but this time it isn’t FIFA. Entering the chart at the top is Pro Evolution Soccer 5 from Konami, with the PlayStation 2 version having taken away FIFA 06’s short lived crown of the fastest selling football game in a seven-day period. This week football dominates the chart with Pro Evo at the top, followed by Football Manager 2006 and then last week’s chart topper FIFA 06 being pushed down to No.3. Football Manager 2006 has sold twice that of last year’s version and become the 2nd fastest selling PC game, behind Championship Manager 4 back in 2003.

There were plenty of other new releases this week with The Warriors (No.4), Pokemon Emerald (No.5), F.E.A.R. (No.6), Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi (N0.9) and Quake 4 (No.10) all making the top ten. Other new entries are L.A. Rush (No.17) and SSX On Tour (No.20) sneaking into the top twenty, and finally UFO: Aftershock, only managing to make No.35.

With so many new entries there have been some big fallers this week. Black & White 2 has taken the biggest fall dropping 16 places from No.6 to No.22. Other notable fallers are Spartan: Total Warrior, Far Cry Instincts and Sniper Elite. It isn’t all doom and gloom for last week’s entries. Ultimate Spider-Man gains a 21% increase in sales despite falling four places to No.8, and Wallace & Gromit sees a 76% sales increase.

Next week’s heavy hitters expected to make an impact on the chart are Tony Hawk’s American Wasteland, Sly Raccoon 3: Honor Among Thieves, SOCOM 3, The Suffering 2: The Ties That Bind, Civilization IV and X3: Reunion.
