Jack can’t make FIFA Street 2 surrender its top spot

It seems that nothing can stop the might that is FIFA Street 2. Despite mediocre reviews, UK gamers are lapping it up, with the game holding off new entries from Buzz! The Big Quiz and 24: The Game. Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter from Ubisoft continues to sell well, charting at No. 3 this week, no doubt helped by the release of the Xbox version of the game.

Driver: Parallel Lines on the PlayStation 2 only managed to enter at No. 8, but with the Xbox version not due until this Friday, it could climb higher in the chart. Burnout Revenge made a re-entry at No. 9 thanks to its arrival on the Xbox 360, and THQ’s The Outfit on the Xbox 360 also made its debut, entering at No.13.

Eidos had a less than spectacular No. 18 debut for Commandos: Strike Force, and Sonic Riders probably charted higher than it deserved at No. 20. Capcom’s rather great Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams didn’t quite manage a two twenty appearance, entering at a quite disappointing No. 23.

Next week should see high new entries for 2K Games’ The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (Xbox 360 and PC) and The Godfather from EA (PS2, Xbox and PC). Oblivion has received rave reviews in the print media and The Godfather has turned out to be a much better game than expected. Check back next week for a full chart rundown.
