Chart Track reports that Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. Brawl has shot to the top of the All Formats All Prices video game chart, beating strong competition from EA’s Battlefield: Bad Company, LEGO Indiana Jones, Wii Fit and Big Beach Sports.
SSBB managed to outsell the combined efforts of the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of Bad Company, which charted at No.2 and No.7 respectively on the Individual Formats Chart. LEGO Indiana Jones is forced down to No.3, Wii Fit is up 23 places to No.4 and THQ’s Big Beach Sports is new at No.5. With three new faces and one re-entry there’s no place in the Top 5 for MGS4 which has to settle for sixth place on its third week of release.
Other new entries include Beijing 2008 at No.9, Guitar Hero: Aerosmith at No.14, The Bourne Conspiracy at No.15, My Health Coach at No.27, C&C3: Kane’s Wrath at No.33 (strictly a re-entry thanks to the newly released Xbox 360 version), Prince Caspian at No.36 and Kung Fu Panda at No.40.
New releases likely to figure in next week’s chart include Midway’s Unreal Tournament 3 on Xbox 360, Nintendo’s two new Pokemon Mystery Dungeon titles, THQ’s Wall-E and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe’s Buzz! Quiz TV.
