Rory McIlroy PGA Tour has become EA’s first PGA Tour game to hit the top of the UK charts since the launch of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 in 2008.
Chart Track notes that EA’s latest golf title recorded almost the same week one total as the 2008 release. 62 per cent of the game’s week one sales came on PS4.
It’s a sports game in second place too, with F1 2015 dropping one spot and 57 per cent over its launch week. Batman: Arkham Knight claims third, while Destiny shoots up the chart to No.6 thanks to promotions during Amazon Prime Day.
Sony’s God of War 3: Remastered fails to set the chart alight in the same way the publisher’s The Last of Us Remastered managed, having to settle for No.9. Godzilla, meanwhile, completely fails to chart in the enter Top 40.

There was no place in the Top 40 for Bandai Namco’s monster smash em-up Godzilla, which is hardly surprising given the critical mauling the title has received.
A lack of retail releases means there’s little in the way of competition for the current chart toppers, so expect a battle between Rory McIlroy, F1 2015 and Batman: Arkham Knight to claim the No.1 spot.
