It’s no surprise to see Harry Potter hold on at the top. The franchise has been all over the news over the last week thanks to the highly anticipated launch of the final Harry Potter book. Things might change next week though, with Transformers finally hitting UK cinemas and providing a boost to the game’s sales.
Transformers enters the chart at No.2 and manages to take the top spot in the Full Price PS2 and Xbox 360 charts. Brain games are certainly here to stay; the release of Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree making it three brain games in the UK’s All Formats Top 10. More Brain Training is at No.3, Big Brain Academy is new at No.4 and the Original Brain Training is at No.8.
The Darkness is new for PS3 this week, taking the top spot on the PS3 chart and combinied with Xbox 360 sales to climb one place in the All Formats Chart to No.7. Mario Party 8 for Wii falls to No.30 because of a product recall, but will surely jump back into the Top 10 once new stock is shipped.
Sony’s PS3 duo, Resistance: Fall of Man and Motorstorm make re-entries at No.24 and No.35 respectively.
New titles to watch for this Friday include Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl for Nintendo DS. Expect both titles to make the Top 10, but could miss out on a No.1 because of split sales between the pair. Friday also sees the release of Activision’s Guitar Hero: Rocks the 80s and EA’s Rugby 08.
