GfK ChartTrack reports that EA’s Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has climbed to the top of the All Formats All Prices UK video game chart, thanks to increased interest in the title brought about by the release of the film in cinemas.

EA has enjoyed four separate No.1s in the last seven weeks, claiming the top spot in all but one of these weeks. The publisher also has five games inside the Top 10.

Last week’s No.1, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10, slips to No.3, while Activision’s Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen climbs one place to No.2. Wii Fit is back up to No.4, Fight Night Round 4 is down to No.5 and Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood slips one place to No.6.

The Sims 3 jumps up to No.7, switching places with SEGA’s Virtua Tennis 2009. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare continues to ride high at No.9 and EA Sports Active returns to the Top 10, up from No.13.

Elsewhere, Nintendo’s Rhythm Paradise is up 96 per cent and re-enters the chart at No.21.

Next week look out for a high new entry from Nintendo’s Wii Sports Resort, perhaps joined in the Top 20 by Warner’s retail edition of its Watchmen game.
