Konami can celebrate its second week at the top, with PES 2008 holding strong at No.1 despite a 52% drop in sales. The race wasn’t even a close one with PES 2008 moving twice as many units as FIFA 08.

EA’s The Simpsons Game debuts at No.3 – the PS2 version seeing the most sales out of the four release platforms (Xbox 360, PS2 and DS). Ratatouille also continues to be a winner for THQ, up a place to No.4 and once again gaining an increase in sales. There’s also a boost for Halo 3, which climbs to No.5 on the back of some strong retailer bundles.

Outside the Top 10, new releases of note include Sierra’s TimeShift at No.24 and EA’s Hellgate: London at No.34. TimeShift claims sixth spot in the Xbox 360 chart, with Hellgate taking second place in the PC Full Price Entertainment Chart.

The chart looks sure to hot up next week, with the highly anticipated release of Call of Duty 4, along with WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2008, Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction and Gears of War on PC.
