Activision’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has retained its No.1 spot, making it three weeks at the top, despite a 32 per cent reduction in sales week-on-week.

Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed II sticks at No.2, followed by New Super Mario Bros. Wii, FIFA 10 and Wii Fit Plus. Wii Sports Resort is at no.6, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games is up a place to No.7, Left 4 Dead 2 falls to No.8, Forza 3 holds its ground at No.9 and F1 2009 moves up the field to No.10.

There was no place in the Top 40 for the week’s two big releases, Lego Rock Band and Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles – the latter managed only 22nd place in the Wii only chart.

Hitting stores on Friday are James Cameron’s Avatar: The Game, Tony Hawk Ride and The Saboteur, but it’s difficult to imagine any game toppling Modern Warfare 2.
