FIFA has now held the No.1 position in six of the last eight weeks. The gap at the top has increased since last week’s chart, with FIFA seeing an 18% boost in sales, and sales of Hitman dropping off to the figure of 16%.

Elsewhere there’s very little change to the previous week, with the only new entries coming from Nintendogs: Dalmatian & Friends (No.10), and Rise & Fall: Civilizations at War (No.12).

This week sees the release of plenty of titles all jostling for your affection: Dynasty Warriors 5: Empires (PS2 & Xbox 360), Full Spectrum Warrior: Ten Hammers (PS2, Xbox & PC), Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories on PS2, LocoRoco on PSP, and World Tour Soccer 2 on PSP. Expect the latter three to place strongly.

It’s not software that’ll be making the most waves come Friday, though. The Nintendo DS Lite finally arrives in Europe and should help catapult several of the leading titles for the platform into the upper echelons of the chart.
