UK Video Game Chart: FIFA spoils Uncharted party

Chart Track reports that FIFA 10 has made it a hat trick of No.1 chart positions, despite stiff competition from PS3 exclusive Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

Sales of FIFA 10 are down 54 per cent week-on-week, but first week sales were so high that the game has now sailed past the 1 million units mark in just three weeks. It took FIFA 09 six weeks to reach the same milestone.

Uncharted 2 has to settle for No.2 in the All Formats Chart, but did claim the top spot in the Individual Formats Chart. The first Uncharted game only managed a high of No.22 in the All Formats Chart.

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising drops one place to No.3, Wii Sports Resort is up one place to No.4 and SEGA’s Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games is new at No.5.

The week’s other new entries are EA’s Brutal Legend at No.7 and Bethesda’s Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition at No.10.

The big release to watch out for next week is Konami’s PES 2010. After the blockbuster start for FIFA 10, how will the fallen great perform when the pressure is on? Also expect strong new entries from Forza 3, Borderlands, Rockstar Games’ GTA: Chinatown Wars on PSP and WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2010. Sony’s EyePet and Microsoft’s Lips: Number One Hits also arrive in stores, but neither is likely to be a first week smash.
