FIFA 15 is celebrating five consecutive weeks at No.1 in the All Formats All Prices UK video game chart – the most of any game so far this year.

Minecraft: PlayStation Edition, meanwhile, sees a huge 82 per cent sales boost thanks to strong PS4 sales, helping the title climb seven places to No.2.

The Evil Within drops one place to No.3, but remains ahead of Destiny which climbs three places to No.4. Shadow of Mordor falls one place to fifth, while Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel loses 62 per cent of its launch week sales to take No.6.

The week’s highest new entry comes from Bayonetta 2 on Wii U at No.7, with Civilization: Beyond Earth new at No.18 and Just Dance 2015 taking 19th. Sony’s SingStar: Ultimate Party is also new at No.32.

While 2K’s Civ Beyond Earth will sell well digitally, the same can’t be said for Ubisoft’s Just Dance 2015. Once a bankable franchise for the publisher – especially during the boom of the original Wii – it appears the dance phenomenon may be on its last legs if it can’t pick up the pace in time for Christmas. 55 per cent of Just Dance 2015 sales were on Wii, indicating Ubisoft needs to do a better job at attracting gamers on other platforms if the franchise is to survive.

We’re set for another busy week of new releases, with Lords of the Fallen, Sunset Overdrive, NBA Live 15 and The Walking Dead Season 1 and 2 all coming to new-gen consoles. Microsoft’s Sunset Overdrive has the most marketing behind it, but we reckon gamers craving a Dark Souls type game could help Lords of the Fallen to a very solid launch week. And while you still have a while to wait for WWE 2K15 on PS4 and Xbox One, the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions arrive in store this Friday.
