Sales of FIFA 07 are leagues ahead of its opposition, in fact so strong are the game’s sales that the combined efforts of the seven games placed immediately bellow FIFA 07 would not topple the footballing giant.

Despite failing to come anywhere near FIFA 07, Lego Star Wars II does climb two places to No.2, with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 holding onto third and Just Cause slipping two places to No.4. Kingdom Hearts II has a second strong week and holds onto fifth.

The DS game compendium 42 All-Time Classics is the week’s highest climber, moving 19 places to No.17. The DS also claims the highest re-entry with Zoo Tycoon at No.29. The only new entry to speak of is Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence for the PlayStation 2, which enters at No.34. Ubisoft’s movie license Open Season fails to make the All Prices Top 40, but does manage No.28 in the Full Price chart – sales should improve when the film finally opens at UK cinemas on Friday.

Next week expect the biggest new entries to come in the form of Championship Manger 2007, Ridge Racer 2 on PSP, and Vivendi Games’ multiplatform Scarface: The World Is Yours.
