Fallout 4 has entered the UK video game chart at No.1, recording the best ever launch week for the series and the third biggest launch of 2015 so far, reports Chart Track.
Fallout 4’s launch week sales success comes behind only FIFA 16 and Black Ops 3 in terms of unit sales. In terms of the Fallout series, Fallout 4’s week one sales better that of Fallout: New Vegas, the franchise’s previous best, by 213 per cent.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 drops into second place, followed by FIFA 16 which actually saw a 10 per cent sales increase thanks to Xbox One bundling.
The multi-platform juggernauts were too much for the Xbox Only Rise of the Tomb Raider, new at No.4 with 85 per cent of sales coming form the Xbox One version.
Elsewhere Minecraft: Story Mode claims fifth place, continuing to record week-on-week unit sales growth.
Need for Speed drops to sixth, followed by SEGA’s Football Manager 2016 which is new at No.7, LEGO Dimensions in eighth, AC Syndicate is ninth and Halo 5: Guardians drops to tenth.
Blizzard’s StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void is new at No.23, but we know the standalone expansion sold over a million units worldwide in 24 hours.

Fallout 4 is a great success for Bethesda, but there’s very little chance it will hold on at the top next week. EA’s Star Wars: Battlefront launches on Thursday and will likely enter at No.1, pushing Fallout and the following pack down a peg or two. The question is whether Battlefront can topple the year’s best-selling games of 2015 so far.
