In a busy week of new releases, it’s Capcom who can celebrate most readily with the latest in the Devil May Cry series entering at No.1. The first game in the series to release on the Xbox as well as the PlayStation seems to have benefited, taking the series to No.1 for the first time. Although new to the Xbox 360 platform, the console took a 61% share of DMC4 sales.

The new release of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games for Nintendo DS saw the combined sales of the game jump by 85% and climb two places to No.2. In third place is the re-imagining of the Turok franchise, which pushes EA’s Burnout Paradise down to No.4.

The one new release we weren’t expecting to be riding so high is PDC World Championship Darts 08, which thanks to the massive sales of the Wii version (No.2 in the Wii chart) places at No.6.

Other new entries come in the shape of SEGA’s The Club at No.9, Eidos’ Conflict: Denied Ops at No.11 and Nintendo’s latest brain trainer, Professor Kageyama’s Maths Training at No.16.

Although nothing on the same scale as DMC4 is hitting stores on Friday, we do expect strong entries for Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings, Cooking Mama 2, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic: Elements and Battalion Wars 2.
