UK Video Game Chart: Conan beats Haze

Rockstar Games’ GTA 4 has claimed a fourth consecutive week at the top of the All Formats All Prices UK video game chart, holding off strong competition from the PS3 exclusive FPS Haze and the PC MMO Age of Conan.

Funcom and Eidos’ Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures is a new entry at No.2 thanks to the biggest launch for a PC title so far this year. The game also becomes the biggest ever launch for an online-only title outside of the World of Warcraft franchise.

Haze is also a new entry at No.3, followed by Mario & Sonic and Wii Play at No.4 and No.5 respectively. The timed Xbox 360 exclusive Rock Band is new at No.6, with Chart Track reporting that three quarters of all people who purchased the game also bought the instrument controller bundle.

Massive stock shortages give rise to the biggest faller, with Wii Fit dropping out of the Top 40 after holding No.2 last week.

New entries to watch out for next week include Codemasters’ Race Driver: GRID and Activision’s Enemy Territory: Wake Wars.
