Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 holds on for a second week at the top of the All Formats All Prices UK video game chart, despite an 81 per cent drop off in sales.

Despite the expected sales slump, Black Ops 2’s second week managed 15 per cent more units than Modern Warfare 3 was able to shift in its second week – a positive sign for the longevity of the blockbuster shooter.

Hitman: Absolution must settle for second place, but outsold the previous best Hitman launch – Blood Money in 2006 – by almost three to one. 49 per cent of sales were on Xbox 360 whilst 42 per cent were on PS3.

FIFA 13 is up two per cent and holds at No.3, whilst Assassin’s Creed 3 is absolutely static in sales and sticks at No.4. Halo 4 slips to No.5, with LEGO The Lord of the Rings new at No.6. Just Dance 4 is at No.7 and Skylanders Giants also holds firm at No.8.

Dishonored returns to the fold at No.10 thanks to strong retailer promotions, as does THQ’s Udraw Studio which is up 406 per cent and charts at No.13.

With so many new releases there was always going to be some major disappointments, and this week there are three: Disney Epic Mickey 2 is at No.34, Family Guy: Back to the Multiverse takes No.35 and PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is new at No.38.

Despite mixed reviews Hitman: Absolution appears to have performed pretty well for Square Enix, although it’s not known exactly how many units the game has sold.

Worryingly for Sony it has recorded another flop in the UK with PlayStation All-Stars, which looks set to follow LittleBigPlanet Karting out of the chart next week. Likewise Disney Epic Mickey 2 will require large oversees sales if the series is to continue.

Look out for Far Cry 3 sniffing around at the top of the chart next week, although its arrival on the same day at the Wii U may hinder its chances at claiming the top spot. New Super Mario Bros. U and ZombiU are our picks for the highest charting Wii U titles, whilst Black Ops 2, Assassin’s Creed 3 and FIFA 13 may also get a boots from early Wii U adopters.
