Overnight Sony announced that the PSVita – the final name for its next generation portable – will definitely be released this year priced $249/€249 (roughly equating to £223) for the WiFi Model. The 3G model has the higher price of $299/€299 (around £268).
However, it sounds like the UK retail price for PSVita will end up a little higher than our conversions. A source close to Sony told CVG it was confident of the UK RRP being “somewhere close to £235” for the WiFi version.
Is £235 too much to pay for the new handheld? Nintendo’s 3DS launched at around the same price, but retailers quickly slashed the price to well under the £200 price barrier.
