Speaking last night at the London Games Conference, ChartTrack director Dorian Bloch revealed that from the start of 2010 its PC sales chart will incorporate sales made on digital distribution platforms.
“From the start of next year, whoever is ready to contribute data, be they publisher or digital distributor will be able to come on board from the beginning of next year,” revealed Bloch.
The chart, backed by all ELSPA members, will provide a range of benefits, said Bloch, who said that the “PC market isn’t dying, it has just moved on”.
While the PC chart will be updated to include download sales from early in 2010, there is no plan to incorporate similar digital data in the console charts, largely because platform holders are reluctant to share this data.
