Ubisoft has today announced the launch of Play Zone, a new Wii exclusive party-games range designed to bring easily accessible entertainment to the whole family.

“With our new Play Zone party titles, the Wii gamers who like to spend time with friends and family will have fun with the Wii through innovative and involving mini-games. The Play Zone label will provide them with the best games to mingle and compete together in a fun and friendly atmosphere” said John Parkes, Ubisoft’s EMEA Marketing Director.

The first game to launch under the Play Zone label will be Sports Party, a mini-game collection based on popular sports. Using a range of intuitive gestures players will compete in nine disciplines: basketball (3 different mini-games), croquet, lawn darts, badminton, volley-ball, horse shoes and mini-golf. Competitive and cooperative game modes will be included.

Sports Party is scheduled for release on July 11, 2008.
