Surf’s Up is based on Sony Pictures Animations’ feature-length CG animated film of the same name, which follows the story of a surfing penguin called Cody in the high-octane world of competitive surfing.

The game, developed at Ubisoft’s award-winning Montreal studio, is described as an arcade surfing and extreme sports video game, with the action set at the annual Reggie Belafonte Big Z Memorial Surf Off.

Players will have to surf at exotic surf spots around Pen Gu Island and can rip it up as one of ten characters from the film, including Cody and Big Z, the surfing legend from the past. Take part in the championship in the game’s single-player mode or go head to head with friends in multiplayer.

The game will also include new voice work from the movie’s cast and clips from the movie.

The game’s scheduled for release at the end of May just prior to the movie’s debut and will be available for PS3, PS2, PSP, Xbox 360, Wii, GameCube, Nintendo DS, GBA and PC.
