Ubisoft has announced the May 2010 release of Pure Football, an entirely new sports brand that is currently in development at Ubisoft Vancouver.
Pure Football is described as a new and unique vision of football video games, emphasising the intense, physical and spectacular aspects of the sport. An over-the-shoulder camera and visceral audio will dynamically react to the context of each five-a-side match, designed to create the feeling of taking part rather than watching a TV broadcast.
The game will feature 230 “elite footballers”, 17 international teams, and 17 legendary players. Players will also be able to create their own customised athlete who can progress through the campaign mode and ultimately go up against the world’s best players.
Up to four people can play multiplayer locally and 1vs1 matches are supported online, along with the inclusion of leaderboards.
Ubisoft hasn’t revealed which platforms the game is heading to, but the HD quality screen shots suggest PS3 and Xbox 360 at the very least.
