In Lostmagic a peaceful world is disrupted by a new evil force, with the fate of this world relying on Isaac the wizard and the seven magic wands left behind by his creator. Playing as Isaac you must use the stylus to unleash magic spells and command squads of monsters into battle.

Lostmagic brings role-playing games on the DS to a new level, capitalising on the innovative and unique gameplay abilities such as casting spells with the stylus and the global connectivity of the Wi-Fi mode,” said Tony Kee, vice president of marketing at Ubisoft. “Ubisoft is proud to continue in its tradition of bringing cutting-edge games to gamers worldwide.

Using a symbol system players can combine spells to create more than 350 magical combinations. As well as using the stylus to cast spells you will be able to easily control onscreen units using a point-and-click interface, perfectly suited to the DS’s touch screen. As well as an involving single-player game you’ll have the option to challenge friends over Wi-Fi. This is an ideal way to test out magic casting skills and strategies before taking them into the single-player game.

Lostmagic is pencilled in for a spring release in North America and Europe.
