Turtle Rock will use Crytek’s CryEngine to build its secret FPS currently in development for THQ, according to newly listed job vacancies at the studio.
The studio is “looking for talented individuals to join our team as we ramp up production on Secret Project #1 for THQ – which just happens to be the most exciting, ambitious thing we’ve ever attempted,” reads the Turtle Rock website.
“Experience with CryENGINE would be a major bonus, but not essential,” states the ad.
A host of job roles are currently vacant, with details for these positions seeking experience on multiplatform titles and online communities.
Earlier this year THQ and Turtle Rock announced the secret game. Turtle Rock COO Phil Robb described the project as the “most ambitious thing we’ve ever attempted”. He added: “We’re going to take the first person shooter experience to a whole new level, and we can’t wait to show the game for the first time in the months ahead.”
The game’s set for release in 2013.
With Crytek on board to develop the sequel to Homefront, the CryEngine looks like the new engine of choice for THQ titles.
