Turok and Tron developer Propaganda Games has been closed, Disney Interactive Studios has confirmed.

The studio released Turok in 2008 to mixed reviews and more recently completed work on movie tie-in Tron: Evolution. The writing was, however, already on the wall when in October 2010 Disney cancelled the studio’s open world adventure game, Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned, and downsized the studio.

A statement from the publisher read: “Disney Interactive Studios confirms the closure of its Vancouver-based internal game development studio, Propaganda Games. The studio has completed all work associated with its most recent project.”

No reason for the closure of the studio was given by Disney, but in situations such as this it’s usually always down to not making enough money.

Propaganda’s Turok reboot earned mixed reviews, but made a modest debut in February 2008, with around 200,000 units sold on Xbox 360 in North America and a solid No.3 chart position in the UK.
