UPDATE: Microsoft has revealed the full line-up of titles available in July’s Games with Gold, confirming that Tumblestone will be joined by The Banner Saga 2, Rainbow Six Vegas 2 and Tron: Evolution.

ORIGINAL STORY: Block-busting puzzle game Tumblestone will be one of next month’s Xbox Games with Gold, the game’s developer has announced.

According to the studio (which goes by the name of The Quantum Astrophysicists Guild), the game will launch first on PS4, Wii U and Steam on July 12, before releasing on Xbox One via Games with Gold on July 16.

“Tumblestone is the first original action-puzzle game of the past fifteen years – completely reinventing the genre into a deep and cerebral puzzle solving experience,” the developer says. “Diverging from the staid match-3 formula of Bejeweled, Tumblestone strips out all the random gem flipping junk, and elevates the genre with unique puzzles and intense multiplayer gameplay in the spirit of Tetris Attack and Dr. Mario. This isn’t a game for people who want to lull themselves to sleep, no, Tumblestone is for gamers who love old-school puzzle games!”

As well as local/online 4-player multiplayer and multiple arcade modes, a 40-hour story campaign is also promised in which players must “help the Sausage King make friends and discover what happened to the Tumblecrown”.

The remainder of next month’s Games with Gold line-up has yet to be confirmed. If you aren’t an Xbox Live Gold member, expect the game to cost $24.99 in North America.
