Tropico 5’s first major expansion ‘Waterborne’ will launch on PC via Steam next Wednesday, December 17 priced £14.99, Kalypso has announced.

The expansion sees El Presidente attempting to extend his reign into the sea, taking advantage of lucrative new industrial opportunities by constructing waterborne structures along the coast.

Included in the expansion are the first water-based game mechanics in the history of the series, such as water traffic, larger coastal areas and new events.

Players will also be able to build new off-shore alternatives for defence, food, energy, entertainment and housing.

The expansion’s new campaign offers six scenarios, new dialogue and story. All new content also works with existing sandbox maps and multiplayer modes.
